Rubber Duck Tours uses custom made state-of-the-art amphibious vehicles called a "Hydra Terra.“ This vehicle is a U.S. Coast Guard approved "T" vessel as well as a certified passenger vehicle for use on the roadways.
    This vehicle has revolutionary positive buoyancy foam filled compartments making it virtually unsinkable. This vessel will remain afloat even with the drain plugs removed and full engine room flooding.
    The Hydra Terra is 39' long and 8' feet wide and has a seating capacity of 45-49 passengers. The vehicle is powered by a 300hp 7.2 litre Caterpillar Diesel Engine, electronic steering, Allison heavy-duty transmission.
    On land, it can travel up to 65 miles per hour and require drivers to hold a Class "A" or "B" CDL License issued by the California Department of Transportation.   By sea, the Hydra-Terra travels at 6 knots and must be operated by a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Master Captain.  By air, the Duck moves at speeds in excess of 200 mph! (depending on weather conditions)
    This vehicle is equipped with adult and children life preservers as well as fire extinguishers per requirements of the U.S. Coast Guard.
